Performance Excellence Network
Company Overview
The Performance Excellence Network (PEN) is a 38-year-old nonprofit that advances organizational excellence and continuous improvement in a three-state region (MN, SD, ND). PEN helps leaders identify and prioritize improvement opportunities (using a portfolio of validated organizational assessments based on the Baldrige Framework), and convenes several types of forums -- breakfasts, webinars, workshops, roundtables, a cohort-based program, conferences -- that bring leaders, professionals, and experts together to share/learn best practices that drive organizational outcomes and to network. Company History
PEN was founded as the Minnesota Council for Quality, Inc. in 1987 as a result of Minnesota Governor Perpich’s 1985-86 Commission on Minnesota’s Economic Future. PEN's mission then was to improve the quality, productivity, and competitiveness of Minnesota businesses. Today, we serve all types and sizes of organizations – businesses, healthcare systems and facilities, education institutions, nonprofit and governmental agencies – helping them improve and sustain outcomes.
PEN believes that our socio-economic future depends largely on the effective management of organizations throughout the region. Therefore, PEn's goal is to help organizations of all sizes, in all sectors, and in all communities improve their operations and their performance.
Communities within each state will be stronger if leaders work together to solve social and economic challenges that cross organizational boundaries. Therefore, part of our focus is on providing leaders with the network and means to improve the communities in which they live and work.
