Description
Seneca Federal Health is hiring Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs) to provide high-impact behavioral health support to our military community. This role offers the flexibility of working remotely while supporting service members across global time zones, with scheduled hours of 6:30 PM to 5:30 AM EST, Monday-Thursday, for the Indo-Pacific region, and 1:30 AM to 10:30 AM EST, Monday-Friday, for the European region, providing mission-driven behavioral health care that directly contributes to service members' readiness and well-being.
Selected candidates will complete a two-week, on-site onboarding in San Antonio, TX, before transitioning fully to virtual care.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing brief, evidence-based virtual counseling for individuals and groups with low-to-moderate-acuity mental health needs, aligned with the Military Health System (MHS) model of care
- Developing, monitoring, and documenting comprehensive treatment plans that support restoration, rehabilitation, and measurable clinical progress
Using the current DSM to identify presenting symptoms, establish accurate diagnoses, and guide therapeutic planning - Exercising independent clinical judgment in case formulation, treatment recommendations, and written and verbal communication across the behavioral health service line
- Completing readiness-related evaluations, including hospitalizations, recommendations, duty-status assessments, Active Duty Profile issuance, Medical Evaluation Board support, command consultations, and other service-specific administrative processes
- Participating in staff meetings to contribute to case discussion, continuing education, quality improvement, and safety initiatives
- Maintaining timely documentation by updating the patient electronic medical record in MHS Genesis within 72 hours, with same-day documentation for high-visibility or higher-acuity cases
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- An active, unrestricted, independent LCSW license from any U.S. state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
- Master's degree (minimum) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
- Experience supporting overnight shifts between the hours of 6:30 PM EST and 10:30 AM EST
- Minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience providing psychotherapy and counseling services, performing comprehensive bio-psychosocial evaluations, and developing evidence-based behavioral treatment plans
- A current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Clinical Social Work independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction
- To be eligible for this position, candidates must have a minimum of two years of unsupervised clinical practice experience obtained after receiving their LCSW license. For example, if you received your LCSW license on July 9, 2020, your qualifying clinical experience must reflect at least two full years of practice occurring after July 9, 2020.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Please note that an Advanced certification, such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), will not supersede BLS
Desired Qualifications:
- Preferred candidate will have experience as a Clinical Social Worker using virtual platforms within the Military Health System (MHS). Virtual health experience outside the MHS is acceptable.
- Experience using MHS GENESIS
- Experience administering Active-Duty Profiles, Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) evaluations, and fitness for duty determinations
