Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Resource Pool (Float Pool) position covering all Med/Surg, Stepdown, and Telemetry units at a Level I Trauma academic medical center in West Virginia, requiring Epic experience and a strong clinical background across multiple specialties.

- Float pool assignment covering all Med/Surg, Stepdown, and Telemetry units at a Level I Trauma acute care hospital
- Units include: Med/Surg Stepdown, Trauma & General Surgery, Ortho/Neuro, Neuro Stepdown/EMU (Epilepsy Monitoring Unit), Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology/Stepdown, and a Long-Term Antibiotic Infusion Unit
- Each unit has up to 34 beds
- Patient ratios: 1:3 on Stepdown units and 1:6 on Med/Surg and Telemetry units
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Weekend nightshift cluster schedule: Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday
- Epic EMR is used; experience is required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active WV RN license or a Compact RN license required
- Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Strong, well-rounded clinical background in Stepdown, Neuro, Ortho, Trauma, General Medicine, and Oncology required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Level I Trauma experience preferred
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Two professional references required for consideration: one supervisor reference and one peer reference (e.g., Charge RN); if the candidate worked a permanent position within the last 12 months, one supervisor reference must be from that facility
- A copy of driver's license required for consideration
- Copies of all required certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidates will float across all Med/Surg, Stepdown, and Telemetry units and must be clinically competent across multiple specialties including neuro, ortho, trauma, oncology, and general medicine
- Royal blue scrubs are required
- Candidates who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before applying
- Candidates who have worked at a WVU facility for a cumulative total of one year must also take a 2-year break before reapplying
- All candidates interview directly with a unit manager
