Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit position requiring telemetry skills and a minimum of 1.5-2 years of experience.
Details
- Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit in a hospital setting
- Patient population includes Stepdown, Progressive Care, and Telemetry-level patients with varying acuity
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, with flexibility to 1:5 in emergencies
- Night shift schedule: 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekday shifts with some weekend coverage required
- Blocked schedules may be considered for weekend-only blocks (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon)
- Charting via Cerner EMR
- 13-week contract with possibility of extension
Requirements
- Active WV or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg or Telemetry experience required; 2+ years of Stepdown experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips required
- Proficiency with IV insertion required
- Driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
- Two manager or charge nurse references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Cerner EMR experience is beneficial given the charting environment
- Acuity varies — some patients would be classified as Progressive Care or Telemetry in a larger facility
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Scrubs are not provided; burgundy and/or white scrubs are required
- Holiday RTO requests are limited to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays
